Sorting and Filtering Tables

Tables in the application can be sorted and filtered to help you find and organise the information you need. Sorting and filtering is available in the following views:

  • Inbox
  • Parts
  • Print Jobs

Tip: To find out whether a column supports sorting or filtering, hover your mouse cursor over the column name — icons will appear to show which options are available.

Sorting, Filtering and Search applies per tab/table, and will persist when changing tabs. i.e., if you filter the Inbox To -> Review tab, the Inbox -> Accepted tab is not filtered, but navigating back to the  Inbox -> To Review tab will still have the filters / search applied

Sorting

Sorting arranges the rows in a table into a specific order based on the values in a column — for example, alphabetically or by date.

Only one column can be used to sort the table at a time. If you have not selected a sort column, the table is sorted by an internal item ID that is not displayed.

Each column can be in one of three sort states:

Icon State Description

Unsorted The table is not sorted by this column. This is the default state.

Descending Rows are sorted from highest to lowest (e.g. Z → A, or newest → oldest).

Ascending Rows are sorted from lowest to highest (e.g. A → Z, or oldest → newest).

How to Sort

Click on a column name to cycle through its sort states: Unsorted → Descending → Ascending.

  • When a column is Unsorted, the sort icon is only visible when you hover over the column name.
  • When a column is sorted Ascending or Descending, the sort icon remains visible as a reminder of which column is controlling the order.
  • Selecting a sort on a different column will automatically remove the sort from the previously selected column.

Note: Applying a sort to any column will hide the Group indicator from the table view.

Filtering

Filtering narrows down the rows displayed in a table, showing only the rows that match criteria you choose — for example, showing only items with a specific status.

How to Apply a Filter

  1. Hover over a column name to reveal the filter icon.
  2. Click the filter icon to open the filter menu.
  3. Select your filter options from the menu. The options available will vary depending on the column.

Once a filter is applied, it will appear in the Active Filters list at the top left of the table, so you can always see which filters are in effect. Names shown are arranged as <column name>:<filter value>. For example in the image above the Active Filters list shows there are 2 filters active, one is on the column Part type and has the value Other while the second is on the column Template and has the value All 2. So in this example teh table will only show parts that were classified as Other and were assigned to the template All 2.

Combining Filters

You can filter by more than one column at the same time. Each filter you set will be added to the Active Filters list. The table will show only rows that match all of the active filters.

Changing a Filter

To update an existing filter, hover over the column name, click the filter icon, and adjust your selection in the menu.

Removing Filters

There are three ways to clear a filter:

  1. From the filter menu — Open the filter menu for the column and click the Reset button. The Reset button is only present when a filter is active.

  2. From the Active Filters list — Hover over the filter in the Active Filters list, and a X will appear at the end of the entry. Click the X to remove that individual filter.

  3. Clear all filters at once — Click Clear Filters at the end of the Active Filters list to remove all filters in one step.
